The average American spends 25.5 minutes commuting one way to work (that’s roughly one hour roundtrip) according to the United States Census. It is slightly higher in California at 28.9 minutes per trip. With the amount of time we all spend in the car, accidents are inevitable. Modern-day driving distractions have also contributed to the dramatically increased rates of traffic deaths and bad car accidents. Nine people die each day due to distracted driving in the U.S. and more than 1000 are injured in crashes according to the CDC’s Motor Vehicle Safety Center.
